Gypsy. Is it a derogatory term?
One of my friends is on another belly dance forum and they were discussing the term gypsy. Some people esp. the Romani (spl?) think that its realy rude. What do you guys think? I know that in america its different for us. We have so many terms tied up with the word gypsy that it would be hard to change. Should we even try?

Like I said over on UTBD I know and spend time with Rom who use the term Gypsy to their advantage. I think it just depends on who you are talking to. But get as much knowledge as possible about what ever topic and go from there.
