<title>I want to learn how to dance. in Discussion : Dancer Chat</title>

<description>Topic: I want to learn how to dance.

Message: Coming from a teaching perspective, I would find someone with experience and patience. If you are not dancing inclined, I would take a few private classes and see what comes out of it. If you want, I have some time that I can teach you a few private classes at your home. The best way is to find someone you connect with their teaching. Try a few different teachers and different dance types. For example, I've had experience in ballet, jazz, lyrical, bellydance, and hiphop. I've even taught a few people how to dance at dance clubs and have eyes watch them because they look so natural. Call me or write me back. We can talk things over and maybe I can help you get on your dance feet.

<description>Topic: How can I improve performance?

Message: Like quinny said, practice helps. If you're trying to lose weight, I can tell you what helped me. First, I have tried to be very conscious of when I am full--then I stop eating. That was actually really hard because for years I had been eating huge portion sizes. It was a difficult habit to break. The second thing was that I did about an hour of basic ballet barre exercises and situps, leg lifts and the like and after that I spend another hour or half hour dancing. I did that at least three times a week starting in January and since then I have lost twenty pounds and lots of inches. But it was work! The thing that made it easiest was to have music I like playing while I practice and exercise.Dance!

<description>Topic: How can I improve performance?

Message: Maxmax wrote:I am in middle school and I just started dancing jazz, tap, Hip Hop, and a Modern &#34;fun&#34; class. I am a little overweight so it is a little hard for me to be like the sticks in my class. I want to go to ADTC (American Dance Training Camp) and Camp Med-o-Lark, which has a huge dance program. I want to go to a dance boarding school like the School of American Ballet, but that is for professionals. Is there any other boarding school like SAB? Moreover, how can I improve my dancing performance?Thank you!
Hi, I am also a teenage dancer. The only thing that you can really do to improve is practicing. Stretch three well before you start dancing. Practice things like sashays, leaps, pirouettes, etc. across the floors and practice dances that you have learned in class. You might even want to make up some of your own dances and put it to your own music because then you will learn a little about choreographing and will learn more dance creativity. Just make sure that you practice dancing for at least an hour every day.
